Wedding Invite

Someone I know (You know who you are LOL) is getting married this year and asked me for advice about making her own wedding invitations. Heres one to start with, very simple to make, perfect for a newbie paper crafter!! Her colour scheme is purple so Ive used Stampin Up's Wysteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant and the "Charming" stamp set. Ive shadow stamped the flower and accented with glitter although you cant see that in the photo!

Birthday Gift for Ingrid

I am part of a new Book club and our first meeting is tonight. I cant wait to meet the other girls and get reading! It will be Ingrids birthday....Ive never met her but thought it would be nice to make her a card. Then I made her a desktop calender to go with it! I hope she likes it!

Anyway....the first stamp sets I ordered were Delicate Doilies and Pennant Parade. Both stamp sets have co-ordinating punches...I have the pennant punch already I cant wait to get the Doily Triple layer punch!!

First up is a 6 x 6 scrapbook page which also uses new new "Flirtacious" patterned papers

And finally another card which is a "Snip & Tuck" card using Delicate Doilies and Pennant Parade stamp sets. This is my favourite...so pretty!

Colours are Crumb Cake, Pacific Point and Wild Wasabi. Lovely combination. I've simply stamped using the Neighbournood Wheel and layered another house which has some colour added using markers. Finished off with a piece of Linen Thread and a felt piece from last years mini catty.

A blog hop with the girls from ILWS. You have just come from Vals blog here Thanks to Anthea for organising and coming up with the idea of a blog hop for cards and creations using suggested colour combinations from the Stampin! Up colour coach. I thought I'd take the opportunity to use a colour I've never used...Tangerine Tango. If I want an orange I usually reach for Pumpkin Pie every time! Time has been very short for me so I made a couple of quick cards for kids...

My colour combo is therefore Tangerine Tango, Pacific Point and So Saffron

First up using All in the Family with Curly Cute stamp sets

Second the Owl punch and the accessories from All in the Family and sentiment from Curly Cute

I did a workshop last week and this was the card the ladies made. some of the ladies were non-crafters too...just goes to show anyone can make cards with the right guidance! A picture of the hostess gift too....a card made with Stampin Up's Nature Walk stamp set plus a Pillow box filled with ribbons. I hope she was happy with it!

Six of us from scrap club headed off for a weekend of indulgence....24/7 scrapbooking. (Kate & Pauline went to bed at 6am one morning...thats serious)

It was so funny trying to get everything in the car on the way down. The boot was full to bursting, stuff under our feet and on our laps.

And en route to that fabulous haberdashery shop. Floor to ceiling buttons and ribbons!

The challenges were very inspiring too. Thanks for a lovely weekend girls!! Cant wait for the next one!!

Mini catalogue Blog Hop!

I am totally in love with the Springtime Vintage range of papers etc in the new mini so Ive used the papers on a scrapbook page and a couple of cards. You may have joined me from Janes blog here Shes having a few technical problems this morning so please go back and look later!

First up my scrapbook layout. This was an elderly neighbour that I used to visit and take my daughter to see her. A long time ago now and Gladys has long since passed away.A variety of the papers cut into strips and layered behind the photo. Ive used some Baja Breeze seam binding and Itty Bitty Bits to make cute little embellishments...stamped, punched out and covered in Crystal Effects. Leaves using the birdie punch. The date label is using Four Frames stamp set and co-ordinating punch. Ive added some colour with marker pens. Title is cut with the big shot

Next are the cards.

Crumb cake cardstock randomly stamped with the flower from Cleary for You stamp set. I think it goes pefectly with the roses in the papers....Baja Breeze scallop edge border, Black striped grosgrain ribbon which I cut in half to be economical (!), three little Itty Bitty Bits stamped, punched and covered in Crystal Effects.

My next card again uses Crumb Cake as a card base. Ive stamped over it with the texture wheel. I punched out squares from a selection of the papers and attached to a scrap piece of cardstock, then ran it through the Big Shot using the Top Note die. A patchwork affect. Ive been wanting this Top Note die for sooo long and Im thrilled to be able to buy it here in the UK! You probably cant see from the photo but the die has a lovely "stitched" edging. Baja Breeze seam binding and a flower stamped using the Build a Blossom stamp set which has a co-ordinating punch. Ive also made a scrapbook page show below with another example of the Build a Flower which I think is gorgeous! Very versatile!

The day has finally arrived when all is revealed in this year mini catalogue. We have the BIG SHOT with dies exclusive to Stampin Up!, some fabulous Cath Kidston style vintage papers and embellishments including vintage seam binding. Other styles include "Botanical Gazette" papers and stamps to co-ordinate and a range of "Sewing" themed papers and stamps too.

If youd like to have all of the Springtime Vintage range of papers, buttons and seam binding but cant justify the spend then take part in a "share". I will be organising this in groups of four for only £13.50 per person for a selection of the Springtime Vintage collection. One of the DT challenges was to make a card that moved. This is a "Spring" card which is designed to spring out at you when opened. Great I thought but it leans to one side when on the mantlepiece! A bit annoying! Colours are Cherry Cobbler with Pumpkin Pie and Ive used Ranger inks to distress. SAB freebie "Bliss" stamp set

Next a sketch. Colours are Bravo Burgundy, Baja Breeze & River Rock and Vintage Vogue stamps. Dazzling Diamonds for the glitzy flowers

Then a challenge to do the "Caught in Crystal technique". A bit messy but fun....two die cuts of stamped acrylic sandwiched with crystal effects and glitter and/or tissue paper, Colours Pear Pizzazz

First up:- Use fibres and follow a sketch challenge

Then mainly black & white, multi photo, four letter word for the title, no pink or red, no hearts of flowers! I had to do another one my title has 5 letters...derrrr

so heres the next attempt. Not an easy challenge as I love flowers and put them on most of my pages

Then I had black & white in my head so I did a page of my lovely cat

I wanted to have another go at stamping using markers as opposed to an ink pad onto watercolour paper again. Same design as one of the cards we made at convention with the Just Beleive stamp set. I do like this technique. I spritz with a bit of shimmer paint spray, just for a change. Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie and Red Riding Hood Red. Thanks for looking x
